The Tiger in the Home
There’s no getting round it. If you’ve chosen to be a cat owner you have a little tiger stalking around your home. You can remove a cat from the jungle but you will never remove their jungle hunting instincts. As these beautiful and graceful predators pace and slink around the rooms of your home take time to appreciate these wonderful creations of nature and recognise that we must allow their ancient instincts to stalk and hunt to express themselves in play.
There are some owners that get frightened and jumpy by an aggressively playful cat or kitten and will automatically see the behaviour as bad or unruly. When a cat silently stalks you on the landing rugby tackling your ankles its easy to think they are out to get you however never fear this is your cat or kitten practicing its hunting skills on you as it would with its mother or siblings. Remember cats are not dogs! They cannot be trained out of their instinctual behaviour. In fact if you did try to suppress these instincts your cats health would suffer and they may then indeed develop bad behaviour. Its your responsibility to play with your cat so to save your ankles by some fishing rod toys for your cat to stalk and put aside some time in the day to play with them.
