Oil on Cat Fur
Tikka, my ginger cat, is driving me mad at the moment! He’s found somewhere to sit, probably under a car somewhere where there is an oil leak. He keeps arriving back in from his adventures with oil patches on his fur. Obviously if this type of thing happens you need to wash it off immediately. Cats will start to try and clean themselves and something like oil will not do there health any good.
I wasn’t sure at first what to use but has found that baby shampoo does the trick without any hassle. In general you should rarely have to bathe your cat but there are times when they will get themselves dirty and you’ll need to take the unwilling feline to the bathroom.
If this does happen make sure you protect any exposed skin or else your cat will not hesitate by showing their displeasure and giving you a big scratch. Run the water before you bring the cat into the bathroom. This will reduce any anticipatory anxiety. Close the door in case your kitty tries to make a run for it and keep a firm hold while you bathe them. Make sure you have plenty of towels to hand before you start bathing your cat so that you can quickly bundle them up and dry them off.
