Don’t Sacrifice your Décor for your Cat
Having a cat means buying a dizzying array of cat equipment from feeding and water bowls to scratch posts to bedding. You may think that to house all these things in your home you have to sacrifice your style and home décor but you would be wrong! These days’ pet stores offer a wide range of styles and colours in all cat equipment. You can very quickly find a basket or scratch post that will match with your living room soft furnishings so that it blends effortlessly into the background.
Alternatively you can separate you cats clutter in a section of the room. Although this won’t be as seamless as colour co-ordinating your cat’s possessions it will allow you to keep things as confined as possible. If your home is predominantly decorated in a single colour then black cat accessories will compliment the house well. If you have a more mottled colour scheme then patterned cat accessories can fit well.
The most challenging item to disguise is the litter tray. The best bet is to hide it somewhere in a cupboard or bathroom but even then they can be an eyesore. If you can’t find a suitable hiding place then a covered litter tray is a good option. You can make a makeshift cover by using a cardboard box and papering it in a paper that blends with the décor. Spray it with a plastic coating to keep the moisture out.
