Cat Collars
Cats are adventurous souls, climbing trees, fences and buildings with a grace and ease that can only be admired. However there is a danger lurking for your feline friend that could kill them…it’s very own cat collar. Thousands of cats per year hang themselves accidentally by their collar when out climbing. A collar can be easily hooked on a branch or other object and the cat can be left helpless to escape if you haven’t chosen the correct collar.
I always remember the tale of a friend of mine whose young cat managed to get his collar hooked on the window latch. Luckily my friend happened to walk into the room just in time to rescue the distressed kitten but many more cats aren’t so lucky.
There are many quick release collars available on the market that allow your cat to struggle free if they have got themselves into a fix. If a cat gets caught and is hanging by his collar, his weight will cause the collar to release and that cat can fall to safety where in true feline style he’ll land on his feet and stroll away unruffled.
You may have to buy a few of these collars. I find Tikka manages to lose his on a regular basis so I have a couple spare just in case.
